For many people a vacation just is not the same if it does not involve accommodations at a lighthouse. These unique structures have always had people who have been highly interested in them and therefore it is no surprise that there is a constant demand for lighthouses that can meet this request. While many lighthouse owners do not cater to such requests, there is a large number who do.

Quiet transportation

The Seawest Lounge on BC Ferries
"A relaxing space for quiet, comfortable travel." It is located on Deck Six of the Spirit of Vancouver Island and the Spirit of British Columbia, which ply the waters between Vanvouver and Victoria. There is a $10 charge to use this lounge, but there are complimentary coffee, tea, juice, and pastries, along with access to newspapers and magazines.

BC Ferries Quiet Lounge

The February, 2002 issue of Backpacker Magazine begins a series of features entitled "Quietest Spots in the US", places like South Dakota's Wind Cave National Park and Buffalo Gap National Grassland, or Northern California's Kalmiopsis Wilderness. The Warayuma Peak Wilderness sees only 200 visitors per year, as compared to Grand Canyon National Park, some 150 miles away, which sees some 4.5 million per year.
