In July 2020, the Vancouver Park Board Commissioners approved the designation of 22 parks, including the quiet more secluded old grove of trees at Kits Beach and the Vanier Park Duck Pond, as legal drinking zones as part of the “Alcohol in our Parks Pilot Program.” The BYOB area will include and surround two duck ponds, which are home to beavers, ducks, geese, and other birds. If you agree that the Park Board should be protecting natural quiet wild areas instead of introducing man-made activities that involve drinking alcohol, please sign the petition.
